Yes,
in QX in "Settings" for navit "Enable GPS module" is set.

And I tried "Turn on GPS" in "Devtools" before I start navit.

I changed nothing.
There is no configure-menu for GPSD?

"NeronGPS" gets the Position from GPSD.
But NeronGPS need a Connection to the web to load map-tiles.

The position at Vehicle-Icon is always
0° 0' 0" N
0° 0' 0" E

Thank you,
I found it very diffent from mine, for example you use no follow="n".

Then I remember: At the beginning I didn't know, how to start navit (via
QT).
I found no Icon and tried to start it from console, but this doesn't
work, too. Then I purged navit and compiled it from Source.

My configure "navit.xml" was based on this source-version which is
different from the navit.xml from installable Version in QTmoko v35.

In the QTmoko-Version in layout "car" the land has the color of see in
many zoom-steps.
In the source-Version the see has the color of land.

Last week I tried many various configurations.
I mixed and merged yours, mine, from source, from QTmoko.
I purged navit again and manually deleted all files.
Then I installed it new.

It seems, my problem is not resolvable in the vehicle-tag in navit.xml.

There seems to be no communication between navit and GPSD.

I found example-configs here.
http://wiki.navit-project.org/index.php/OSD_Layouts#FreeRunner_Layout_1

Using this shows me some Elements on the GUI, but without a GPS-Position
there are no values to show.

Has anybody else an idea to solve my problem?

PS.
On my test with navit.xml I found:

1.
<navit center=...>
http://wiki.navit-project.org/index.php/Configuring_Navit#Starting_position

Is not used, has no effect.
navit starts at the last used position from file "center.txt".

2.
http://wiki.navit-project.org/index.php/Configuring_Navit#Vehicle
I try to configure more then one Vehicle: one with logging a gpx-file
and one without logging.
I hoped, I could switch this at runtime.

It is possible to configure one with GPSD and one with DEMO.
But using more than one with
   source="gpsd://localhost"
and
   enabled="yes"
navit didn't start.

3.
My reference-version for testing the config is on my Ubuntu PC.
There is no GPSD running, but I can check the xml-syntax.

Starting from console gives me a feed-back, where in navit.xml is an error.

The Ubuntu-Version:
  - has German translation
  - Click in the settings the Icon in front of the line changes.
The "cross" changes into the green circle with "aktive-hook".

QTmoko:
  - only english
  - Clicking in settings the icon doesn't change.
But when leaving this menu and come back,
I see that the setting is accepted.
