A lightweight display manager that just logins using a given user and
restarts X when it dies, that would make MANY people happy: there are
rather many use cases for it.

I've already spent time working aroud the lack of such a thing:
http://www.enricozini.org/2008/tips/lightweight-autologin.html I was
rather outraged that xdm, apparently the only lightweight display
manager around, explicitly and loudly makes a point of not supporting
autologin.
