I have successfully installed debian with the new kernel. I downloaded
the daily build from http://downloads.openmoko.org/daily/
Then I extracted the /lib/modules directory and created a modules.tar.gz
from it and put it together with the uImage.bin on my local web server.
Finally I changed the variables in the install.sh to
KERNEL_IMAGE=http://192.168.0.200/uImage.bin
KERNEL_MODULES=http://192.168.0.200/modules.tar.gz
and ran it. It worked perfectly and booted the new kernel.
After booting I noticed some problems... usb networking doesn't work
(so I couldn't install anything and had to do everything with the
xterm and matchbox-keyboard), and after suspending, everything stops
working. The only improvement is, that the card doesn't get messed up
and can still be booted. Receiving a call with the new kernel worked,
too.
I hope the sdhc problems get fixed soon...
