PIM High-level interface (was: Re: org.freesmartphone.GSM.SMS)

Thinking about what Vesa and Bernhard wrote, together with the fact that 
simply sending SMS and querying the phonebook is now possible only with the 
org.freesmartphone.GSM.SIM interface, I think we are actually now in the 
position where we can discuss about a high level interface to SMS (well, 
actually this is 'Messages', since we should also include E-Mail) and 
Phonebook entries (well... actually this is 'Contacts', isn't it?)

As this bring us into PIM, which is one Google SoC project in Openmoko, I'd 
like to bring in Sören Apel and his Mentor Michael Dietrich, so we can see 
what they have in mind for the PIM API and whether this would cover our 
needs.

Please continue the conversation in the org.freesmartphone.GSM.SMS thread, but 
let's keep in mind that once we reason about stuff beyond 07.05/07.07, we 
should think about how to best interface this with the PIM initiative.
