Last update on c7x0 / kernel 2.6.24:

I could successfully create the 48k /dev tree using stock udev_118 with a minor
patch to /etc/init.d/udev

udevtrigger
-udevsettle
+#udevsettle

'udevsettle' is the culprit because probably incurring in a race-condition.

I'll recompile a kernel with redirected stdout and post my logs.
