I did not verified this technical background, but guessing from number of
reports for SuSE Linux 10.0, it is still an issue for many cards. I can confirm
this for all my cards (both CF, SD).
For example upper mentioned 50kB/s are reached with 4GB Pretec SD on Zaurus
SL-C3200.
It seems that flash drivers are forced to do strange things by "sync" keyword
used for mount command. By removing "sync", write speed increases dramatically.
