It's the difference between clicking on 'diff' in bugzilla and seeing the patch
and 

 1) clicking on the filename
 2) selecting a path to save it
 3) unextract it
 4) load all files in a (text) editor
 5) looking at it.

Besides that your recipe will destroy peoples build dir, so it won't go in.
