Oh, you are really running GTK+on top of DirectFB?

Uh, Linux-2.4?
Can you upgrade? For new project I would strongly recommend kernel 2.6,
latest is best.

But back to your problem.
It is hard to say what is missing from remote. So let's start with some
questions:
- Does the touchscreen work at all? Can you test it with some other
application?
- Is the touchscreen device properly configured in DirectFB?


I should also mention that GPE Phone Edition will currently not work
with DirectFB - we heavily rely on X11. So if possible try to get X.org
kdrive (aka tinyX) server running and try the touchscreen there. Kdrive
will try to use tslib, the touchscreen library. Along with tslib there
are some test programs to test the touchscreen and also to calibrate it.
