Hi, Florian
I post our discussion here in a hope to attract some comments from other people.
I made a simple organization of the settings related files, so far only gpe-applauncher and gpe-phonepanel are concerned.
Under /usr/share/themes/<theme name>/, 4 directories contain different purposed settings files, they are:
'homescreen', 'phonepanel', 'softkeyarea' and 'mainmenu'.
'homescreen' harbors the Homescreen's background image and popup message icons;
'phonepanel' contains the background image of status area and status indicators' icons;
'mainmenu' includes all the applications' iconview icons and Mainmenu's background image;
'softkeyarea' has the background image of softkey area.
In our implementation, 'homescreen' and 'mainmenu' have some overlaps: the quicklaunch applications icons on Homescreen are stored in the 'mainmenu' directory.
My personal thought: although we have only 2 applications right now, but split the settings files by functional sectors looks more intuitive than merely put them into directories named after applications.
I am waiting for further comments before starting changing the code.
BR
