we have several options to do this.

Even if it is not sane i would expect this to work. If we want to work with the
VMWare image more frequently it might be a good idea to have a proper toolchain
with all the libraries to build binaries for it. I have not tried this for x86
targets before, but i do not see any obvious reason why it should not work.
In addition to this we could add bb-files for our applications that build latest
code from SVN instead of the releases. That might be pretty useful for testing.
