hi,

i have build some patches for gtk 2.11.6. now keyboard navigation works much 
better.

i can switch away from toolbars
i can switch away from comboboxes..

there are a few little quirks i have do fix.

with this version of gtk a t9 like input is also available. so you can work 
with keyboard only devices....
