it would be a good idea to contact the author or better the official minimo
mailinglist in order to sort out the compile issues.
But compiling latest minimo for Linux indeed seems to be quite complicated.

I'm not sure about FT, but I managed to compile some minimo using OpenEmbedded.
I remember that involved getting the correct version from SVN and applying
patches. Maybe just use the OE filebrowser and take a look at their package
description.
