[Gpe-list] GPE in Google Summer of Code 2008?

Hi.  I haven't seen any discussion of the Google Summer of Code on
this list lately, and am wondering if GPE or sub-projects like
GPE-Calendar are going to apply?  It looks like you guys participated
through Handhelds.Org in 2005 and 2006.

I have mentored 26 students through SoC over the last three years for
the Nmap Security Scanner (nmap.org) and Computer Professionals for
Social Responsibility (cpsr.org) projects.  It is hard to turn down
free money and developer time :), and the work has definitely helped
these projects greatly.  So I hope GPE will consider this program too.
