[Gpe-list] Wrong input format for e-mail address?

I'm using gpe-contacts on my N810. I've installed the daily build 
from Graham's repository.

Is there a known bug with the e-mail field? I think the input 
format for the field is wrong. It doesn't allow the input any special 
characters, such as 'at' @, 'dot' . or 'dash' -

Even more, when I open a contact for editing, it will remove a 
valid e-mail address (probably because it thinks the characters in 
there are illegal).

Any ideas?
