you are right, we had this problem before but I must admit that I have no idea
which Mailman setting does prevent this.

I think we should apply that upstream - any opinion from the maintainer?

These two are not really specific or depending on other GPE bits, so I would try
to avoid changing their names unless there is a conflict with another package.
