Thanks for taking the time to report this and to make it easily reproducible.

Fixed in SVN r9273.

This will appear in daily builds with version number 2.8+maemo+svn20071110-1 or
later.  Note that the fix is in libmimedir-gnome so make sure that library
package is updated if you need the fix.

Audible alarms have now been working for some time.  Please open another bug if
there are problems.
