Just get latest releases from here:
http://gpe.linuxtogo.org/download/source/

But depending on which device you use it might be much easier to use the
binaries provided by one of the distributions (e.g. check out
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org)

Building all the sources from scratch is quite a lot of work, some build tool
like OpenEmbedded (which knows GPE already) is recommended.
