[Gpe-list] New GPE packages for Nokia N800

It has taken me longer than I planned but I have, at last, rebuilt the GPE
packages for the Nokia N800, fixing the problems I know about:

1) libmimedir-gnome0 should now be installed automatically.

2) libsoup2.2-8 now has the correct package name and so should not conflict
with the other version of libsoup in other repositories.

3) Several of the library package names were wrong because they did not
include the correct soversion in the package name.

The new packages are available in my experimental bora repository (see
http://www.cobb.uk.net/770/experimental.html). They have been successfully
installed by a couple of people -- if you find any further problems please
report them in the GPE bugzilla. Thanks are particularly due to Peter Bart
for his help in testing these packages.

If you have not previously installed my GPE Maemo packages you should be able
to just install these and can ignore the rest of this message.

Because of several packages changing name, if you had the previous packages
installed several of them have to be removed when the new ones are installed.
There are two ways to handle this:

1) If you use apt-get to do the installation (for example, "apt-get install
gpe-calendar") it should correctly remove several incorrect library packages
and install the corrected ones.

This may not work if you have other repositories in your sources.list which
include some of the same packages (in particular, libsoup). If you try this
approach and it isn't working, try commenting out any repositories except
mine in your /etc/apt/sources.list, issue "apt-get update" and try again.
Don't forget to uncomment the repositories and apt-get update again after you
finish the upgrade.

Unfortunately, the application installer cannot handle the upgrade (it will
complain about package conflicts). So, you need to use the method below if
you want to use the application installer.

2) You can remove the earlier installation altogether. This will not remove
your GPE data files. The packages you need to remove are: libcontactsdb1
libeventdb1 libgpevtype0 libhandoff1 libmimedir-gnome1 libschedule1
libsoup2.2, although removing them will also force removal of all the GPE
applications.

If you use the application manager, you will need to enable red-pill mode or
else you will not be able to see the libraries. Personally, I recommend
logging in as root and issuing:

apt-get remove libcontactsdb1 libeventdb1 libgpevtype0 libhandoff1
libmimedir-gnome1 libschedule1 libsoup2.2

apt-get will then insist on removing a bunch of other things, including the
gpe applications.

Once these packages are removed, you can re-install using either apt-get or
the application manager.
