It is not clear to me how up to date this is.  Is it still the plan?  In other 
words, 2.7 exists and we are trying to close on 2.8?  Or is 2.8 complete??

Maybe I should call the current packages 2.7.1 (as they are a bit beyond 2.7 
itself) and we should announce it to the Maemo world as a 2.8 RC1?

I would like to get starling and possibly some other packages into 2.8, but I 
don't currently have them packaged.  I plan to work on that shortly (I know I 
have been saying that for a while!).

I believe we should create svn-wide release tags for the releases which appear 
in the roadmap.
