Actually, we have recently discovered that the packages I built did not
include the settings file to tell the IT to include the GPE data in the
backups. So, depending on which packages you installed, it may or may not
backup GPE data.
I will be creating fixed packages in the next few days, I hope (the fix is in
SVN and is in the daily build packages but I have not built packages for all
versions yet).
I recommend that you save a copy of all the files from /home/user/.gpe before
the upgrade. If you have all the GPE applications installed you would expect
to see the following files in .gpe: calendar categories contacts timesheet
todo. Either copy them to another system or to a memory card. Then, once
the upgrade is complete and GPE has been reinstalled you can copy the files
back.
