[Gpe-list] GPE on N800 synchronizing with Evolution on desktop - Instructions

Hello everyone! After a bit of experimentation, I was able to get a
synchronization system set up on my Nokia N800 Internet Tablet - with
the GPE software, Evolution, and OpenSync/MultiSync! I've documented
the entire process of setting up both sides from the start on my web
site: http://cleardefinition.com/page/Sync_Evolution_and_GPE_on_N800/

(PS - in reply to a post before I subscribed - to install gpesyncd, just
install one or more of the other N800 GPE apps linked to from my page
using the one-click INSTALL file, then go into Application Manager,
Browse Available Apps, and it should be there. Enjoy!)

I saw a few posts about Maemo GPE here, and so I thought I'd share the
information. I also felt I could get some useful feedback - do my
instructions work for you N800 owners out there? Do they work on an IT
770? Does anyone have any ideas about the issues I list at the bottom
of my page?

(Yes, I know, file bugs :D At the moment I'm not sure where the bugs
are - the main one that concerns me [completed items not appearing in
Evolution] could, in my mind, be in either gpesyncd or opensync, any
thoughts?)

Also, I saw a note about a bug in OpenSync 0.21 causing a write error -
I did see that but it went away and now appears to complete
successfully. Is this something I should be concerned with? I haven't
got much experience with the GPE tools, but I anticipate I will quickly
learn them.

Thanks for the great software, developers! (gpe-timesheet is a
wonderful convenience - wish Evolution had it, too! Now to sync and
print...)
