The Maemo Notes application does create HTML files (if you use Format->File 
format->Formatted text, which is the default).  Unfortunately it is not real 
HTML: the HTML it creates would not display in a browser in the same way as 
in the Notes application (particularly lists -- the use of <ul> is very 
strange!).  And if you give it ordinary HTML files it normally displays the 
HTML instead of the text!

I plan to synchronise the files just as they are.  I will add a command line 
qualifier so that a memo directory can be specified for any platform if 
desired but for Maemo it will default to the right place for the Maemo Notes 
application.
