A defined development environment and device would be nice indeed. Some time ago
we had the iPAQs and Familiar as a quite good reference environment, but things
have changed since HP stopped supporting the linux port to the iPAQs and closed
the CRL. Currently we really lack a reference device.

Personally I do most of the application development on a PC and check the screen
size constraints and some other parameters using Xoo. As reference target
devices I use some old iPAQ h3870 and h5550.
