[Gpe-list] How about a map viewer?

I'd encourage anybody working on map viewing software for GPE to take 
a look at Maemo Mapper for the Nokia 770 and N800 (home page at
http://gnuite.com:8080/nokia770/maemo-mapper/ and code at
https://garage.maemo.org/projects/maemo-mapper/).  It would be really 
helpful for both projects, for instance, if the layout of tiles in 
the filesystem (which Maemo Mapper borrowed from Google Maps) and 
the format for specifying POIs and their icons were the same.  And 
Maemo Mapper is GPLed, so there's lots of code that could be shared 
between the two projects.
