>From time to time, I (inadvertedly) start a second instance of gpe-calender,
e.g. when importing/exporting calendars or starting gpe-calendar on another
machine via ssh X-forwarding. That second instance always segfaults while the
first instance crashes, sometimes causing database corruption.

A cleaner solution (either the first instance shutting down cleanly or the
second instance refusing to start at all) would be preferred.
