currently these functions are missing, but it would be really easy to add
assuming there is a way to do that with the email application.
It might be woth to take a look and check what the "New e-mail" function in the
navigator calls.
About sharing contacts: There doesn't seem to be a defined way to get contacts
into the 770 but it is using EDS, so it should be possible... we should consider
to support EDS as a data backend for GPE as well.

Not yet :-( You see i need more free time... but i remember someone was working
on support for this. Patrick maybe...
There is a project at garage.maemo.org (phone-link) that is intended to do this,
but i didn't manage to make it work so far. But it might teach us how to do this
on the 770 and therefore an easy way to do the same in gpe-contacts easily.

That seems to be a quite specific situation... usually you would like to make it
the other way around and merge all existing entries. Adding a copy function
should be quite trivial but its unlikely that an average user needs this... or
am i wrong?

I don't think it is too complicate - more or less all the bits to do this should
be out there and should be not too complicated to add. Supporting EDS to share
the contact data might be the most complex thing to do.
I think these are some good enhancements to make gpe-contacts much more useful.
Could you add them to the wiki (maybe here
ttp://www.linuxtogo.org/gowiki/GpeThingsToDo) or open enhancement bugs against
gpe-contacts in bugzilla?
Greetings
Florian
