I played with the opensync (GPE <-> file and evo2 <-> file) :

Both handle CATEGORIES, but GPE uses internally numbers to represent the names
of 
the categories. gpesyncd send the numbers to opensync. 

The names of the categories, which gpesync receives from opensync, are stored
as names in the GPE-Database: they aren't lost, but meaningless to GPE!
