Thanks for taking the time to report this and to make it easily reproducible.

Fixed in SVN r9273.

This will appear in daily builds with version number 2.8+maemo+svn20071110-1 or
later.  Note that the fix is in libmimedir-gnome so make sure that library
package is updated if you need the fix.
