[Angstrom-distro-users] Problem setting up "sym" link.

I really liked anne's comments on setting up a "collie" with angstrom. I
have been trying for over a year with no success and lots of frustration. I
know it's mostly my lack of knowledge. ;>}
I have reinstalled the old open zaurus and it worked fine so I know it's not
the hardware. I have brought down the latest minimum narcisus build to work
with. The distro I am using is the latest Mandriva Spring 64 bit all
updated.
I have never seen a reference to setting up the "zImage" file in the card
root linked back to the one in the boot folder. It seems to make perfect
sense as that is where the "boot.cfg" is.
This is where I am having my current problem. I have a terminal logged in as
root and have mounted the CF card as zaurus in the "mnt" folder. I have
unpacked the narcisus image under root.
But when I try to set up a sym link using the "ln -sf" command it keeps
erring out saying I do not have the rights. I have tried out every
combination I can think of with the same result.
Here are some examples of what I have tried:
Sitting in the Mounted zaurus card "ln -sf boot/zImage-X.XX zImage".
Sitting at the root on the PC "ln -sf /mnt/zaurus/boot/zImage-x.xx
/mnt/zaurus/zImage".
And every other combination I can think of.
I would appreciate any hints as to what I am doing wrong. I really want to
get the angstrom running as "Open Zaurus" is no longer supported.

I have long believed that ripping random pages out of phone books, putting
them on the wall, and tossing a dart would yield us a considerably better
lot of government officials than the ones we invariably end up getting.
