[Angstrom-distro-users] HX4700 Problem

Hey

I've just spend a few hours installing Angstrom on my HP hx4700, and the
distro works fine using the x11 image from
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/releases/2007.12/images/hx4700/ along
with the r6 kernel. Couldn't get it to work with the r16 kernel though?

Another problem i encountered was that as soon as i complete a "ipkg update;
ipkg upgrade", then restart the machine, the system wont boot beyond the
splash screen and i have to re-flash to get it to work again. Has anyone
else experienced this? is there a fix? If not how do i debug this as i cant
see what is holding the boot process up in the background because of the
splash screen, is there any way to stop it displaying or otherwise getting
to a log, give that i have to re-flash the system to get in?
