I have used the online image builder to create X11 based images, and have untarred these to my SD partition formatted ext2. If I use the udev option while building, the booting of the image hangs eventually at usb ethernet. If I use mdev option I get to the root login but it cannot startx. It says "-sh: startx: not found". Is there another command to use?

John,

the fundamental issue is the old 2.6.26 kernel for Zaurus c7x0.
We can trick and work-around as we want but udev (and other device
managers) are now requiring modern kernel features, so if even we
bring udev-151 in shape for 2.6.2x kernels the next release will
probably break things anew...(we struggle with udev since it moved
from 0.92).

BUT I have a great news for corgi/spitz/akita users: the kernel 2.6.34
boots and two days ago the last big issue for corgi was resolved
upstream (no mmc/SD detection).
It looks like even the usb-networking issue could be possibly solved too.

So in the very next future Zaurus clamshell machines will have new
kernel as default!

Regards

Andrea
