  Reading informative description of what they did in SDHC, it should
be possible to support it with older hardware, though likely with
degraded performance (reading one sector a time is a thought I remember
while reading an article).

  Of course, such observations can be easily broken by small technical
details ;-). So, someone having a confirmed SDHC (read: screw the
labels, dump internal descriptors on card) should try and report, then
possible hack driver ;-).
