I tried this for a while as well, without success.  This tex package is 
seriously broken.  There is no latex binary at all, for one thing.  The 
configuration seems to be totally missing.

I had asked about this before; and it was pointed out that tetex in 
general is dead.  It would be a good thing to compile texlive for 
Angstrom, but that is beyond my skill level.
