Is it for the 2.6.23 kernel for akita ?
There was a bug in the build files which prevented the wireless modules to be 
built for Akita.
Should be fixed in OE and I believe will find its way into Angstrom with the 
next builds.

I had the same issue and fixed it manually by building the kernel myself.
