I think Andrew Zabolotny has a spitz, which has overlay support compiled into 
the kernel. Last time I checked the akita kernel does not, so I will post an 
updated .bb file to turn on overlay support in akita, and hopefully we can 
get some updated kernels out.

There is no reason for overlay support to not be included, it just isn't 
(probably because it was not used by anything before mplayer/pxa).

You also need to add in the iwmmxt feed to ipkg, which again is included in 
spitz but not akita. I'll take a look at that too. This is for an updated 
mplayer.
