The CF slot is a 16 bit slot anyway which will not provide enough throughput 
for 802.11g. We have tested such setups at work as we had a similar issue 
with a PCMCIA slot in an embedded device for which we needed a WLAN 
replacement card.
The only benefit for a 802.11g card in the slot therefore is the more 
sophisticated security architecture.
