ok, I did ipkg update, installed setserial, but no joy with the bcsp
protocol. I will have to give it a go with the other protocols listed
by 'hciattach -l'. Oh, it was the ericsson setting that caused masses
of log entries in /var/log/messages or dmesg.

the light on the CF card flashes as I'd expect, minicom indicates
protocol data units flowing, so I beleve the brand new card is working
just fine - I don't have a CF to PCMCIA adaptor to hand to try it on
my laptop though.
