I put some scripts in the screen open & rotate event handlers which
force the screen on and ensure its set to minimal brightness if
previously off and on 0 brightness; so, sometimes when its gone to
sleep or blanked its screen and doesn't turn it back on again properly
when it wakes up, I simply close and reopen the screen.
