[Angstrom-distro-users] No WEP with Ambicom wifi CF card

Hello everybody
I just flashed yesterday my C750 with the image from 20070422.
The quality of the ("unstable") image is very good, congratulations to
everybody involved.
However, I am having trouble with my wireless card: I cannot connect to
WEP encrypted networks (connecting to unencrypted networks works).
My card is an Ambicom WL1100C CF card, supported by hostap.
The strange thing is that it was working without problems in recent
OpenZaurus.
I get these messages when I plug it in:
<7>ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'WEP'
<7>ieee80211_crypt_wep: could not allocate crypto API arc4
<4>wlan0: could not initialize WEP: load module hostap_crypt_wep.o
<7>prism2: wlan0: operating mode changed 3 -> 2
(among other things).
It associates with the AP, but naturally it is of no use.
iwconfig reports "Encryption key:off".
I disabled WEP for a moment in my AP and I did "ipkg update; ipkg upgrade"
which updated many packages, I also installed wireless-tools,
kernel-module-ieee80211-crypt-wep and kernel-module-arc4, and run
"update-modules", afterwards, but WEP still is not working (with the above
messages).
When I try to set the WEP key manually with iwconfig I get:
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported.
I searched in the bugtracker, but I didn't find any relevant info (some
bugs were similar but not exactly the same).
Any help is appreciated. If no solution is found, I'll put it in the
bugtracker.
