initrd.bin is not needed for hdd-zauruses.

You will need updater.sh (rename from updater.sh.spitz),
zImage.bin (rename from zImage-*.bin) and hdImage1.tgz.

I am not sure what is the right way to get hdImage1.tgz.

I made it from Angstrom-bootstrap-image-test-*-spitz.rootfs.tar.bz2
by repackaging it to gzip with command like that:
bunzip2 -c Angstrom-bootstrap-image-test-20070121-spitz.rootfs.tar.bz2 | gzip > hdImage1.tgz
