anything I 'know' about udev I stole from somebody else when i had nearly
the exact problems you are - I'm just trying to keep that knowledge moving
:)

I verified that default behavior on recent 2007RC images uses this udev
rule on the h2200.
Perhaps if this is not more widely distributed amongst the machine types it
should be?
two caveats:
1) it sets an ignore voltage control check, which could (in theory) damage
a card - this was the main objection raised against including such a script
in familiar, back when this was originally discussed on that list.
2) it sets hostap_cs as the one wireless driver to rule them all. works
for me :) because I have only had prism2/2.5 based cards. It might not
work for other chipsets so well...
Isn't there a new wireless wrapper for 2.6 kernels? I can't remember what
it is, but I thought it 'intelligently' chose the proper driver under the
hood, so the user didn't need to know - I may be misinformed.
Rgds,
josh
