I checked , and this one is the same as in:

Angstrom-console-image-glibc-ipk-2007.9-test-20071210-akita-installkit

And it works on the akita!

One comment though - I have to manually type "exit" as it stops at a 
prompt following the update. I guess this is the required behaviour so 
if anything goes wrong it can be investigated?

Perhaps it (the updater) should print a message telling the user to 
type "exit" at this point?
