The problem I had with the window manager was trivial.  I got on in text 
mode and tried to start the window manager (enlightenment), and it 
complained about a wrong version number for a library.  I just added a 
symlink to whatever.lib.1 from whatever.lib.2 and it worked.

But any time the window manager is broken, you will get this login --> 
login loop.  You have to boot without the window manager (well, altboot 
did not let me do that, so really, I had to boot off the CF card I had 
used to flash the kernel), and find out what the problem is.
