[Angstrom-devel] Netsurf browser on Angstrom

Good day!

Back in January i've build Netsurf (lightweight, but pretty powerful
web browser, see http://netsurf-browser.org ) using OE and tested it
on a real QVGA hardware (h2200). There was some minor glitches, so I
didn't submit .bb-recipes, planning to polish things some more. But
since then I switched to other things and recipes started to rot on my
hard drive. And today I decided to submit them as is - maybe someone make
some use of it.

Here's the relevant links to OE Bugzilla:

http://bugs.openembedded.net/show_bug.cgi?id=3857
(netsurf recipe, desktop file)

http://bugs.openembedded.net/show_bug.cgi?id=3856
(re2c recipes, -native is needed for compilation)

http://bugs.openembedded.net/show_bug.cgi?id=3855
(lemon-native fix, needed for compilation)

Known issues (as of svn20080223):

1. Scrollbars are not visible(and therefore not usable) on QVGA screen -
vertical in landscape mode and both vertical and horisontal in portrait
   mode. Trivial patch sent upstream:
http://vlists.pepperfish.net/pipermail/netsurf-dev-netsurf-browser.org/2008-February/000308.html

2. Minor rendering problems - top row of pixels of each text string
is eaten. Didn't check if it's netsurf's bug or gtk/pango/cairo's.
There's no such bug when running netsurf on "big PC".

3. Some of the "Choices..." (i.e. preferences) dialogs and "About" box
doesn't fit on QVGA screen. Especially bad is font selector, but I
   guess it's standard gtk+ dialog.
