+10 either. I always considered it non-robust to rely on building
images in potentially inconsistent, and likely non-cleanroom
conditions. Having procedure like above - autobuilder builds images,
then mentors tests and approve them - seems like good compromise
between consistency and mentor involvement.

Can we also consider what image formats are built? It would be great
to have one "master" format from which other can be generated. That's
of course already in place with tar.gz images. Shouldn't we change
that to tar.bz2 to cut on download size?

I've been asking about source for autobuilder for a long time... I
guess, contrib/ in OE tree is the perfect place.
