[Angstrom-devel] Suspend/resume on Tosa

I've been looking into the suspend/resume problem on tosa but I'm
stumped.

I put some markers into drivers/usb/host/ohci-hcd.c to try and see
what was going on during resume and it appears to be failing when
ohci_run is called by ohci_restart. Specifically, halfway through
ohci_run, the function attempts to retrieve a value from the
cmdstatus register which should be zero. It attempts to read this
value 30 times in a loop (waiting udelay(1) between each read) but
receives -1 each time before eventually failing, which sets off the
chain reaction leading to khubd or apmd crashing. This is regardless
of whether prism modules are loaded or not, apmd seems to crash if
prism modules are loaded, and khubd if they are not.

I've included my marked dmesg output at the bottom of this message.

I've found the best way to recompile the module is to "bitbake
virtual/kernel", edit the ohci-hcd.c source file, then "rm tmp/stamps/
tosa-angstrom-linux-gnueabi/linux-rp-2.6.17-r33.do_compile", and
"bitbake virtual/kernel". The /drivers/usb/host/ohci-hcd.ko module
can then be copied to a CF card and loaded manually with insmod to
test it.

Any help or suggestions welcome!

The following is my marked up dmesg output (checkpoint 6 is right
before the loop that attempts to read the cmdstatus register):
