I finally got sound working on spitz, the GPE volume control applet
has no effect at all, but the alsa mixer (ncurses interface) did work
once I cursored-right 200 times to find the correct control!

Am very happy, was streaming internet radio soon after. Slight
annoyance when the device automatically slept, it'd be nice if the
screensaver/dimmer/sleep control applet allowed you to specify  a list
of processes which if running stop suspend.

Now, if only there were a nice shoutcast client and GUI media
player... /me goes off to browse the feeds.
