Hi,

There have been numerous posts and bugs about the sound problems with recent kernels and I
get the idea that we (the developers) aren't getting through. So here is a short summary +
howto:

Summary:

* The new also code in the kernel changed names for the mixer controls
* The asound state files in OE weren't updated
* Alsa isn't exactly robust and will ignore everything in the statefile after a 'wrongly'
named control
* We don't have access to all affected machine and hence can't fix it

howto:

* Fiddle around with alsa mixer till you get sound
* Attach your working statefile to bugzilla

More mails about "sound is broken" aren't helpfull at this point, so please follow the
above howto.

regards,

Koen
